Flying Kite Man

For the entire month of June, 2009 there will be the first group art show presented at the Subterranean Art house in Berkeley, curated by Yukako Ezoe Onodera and Ryoji Kajikawa. The show will showcase over 40 local artists from the Bay Area. The main subject of the show will be KITES hung as installations from the ceiling crafted by many artists. One of the star kite pieces made by Ryoji Kajikawa will have a projection of a film on it. There will also be a variety of mediums presented photos, paintings, drawings, and video, related to the feeling of kites on the wall.
On the opening night we will have a Flying High Party! The evening will include a performance by avantgarde Japanese dance performer and founder of Harupin Ha Butoh, Koichi & Hiroko Tamano and her students; a craft show with vendors selling hand made jewelry, t-shirts, designed apparels and crafts, live painting by Noa and DJ Dera and DJ K One spinning disco hip-hop.
