The overall design on the canopy is a compass showing four different directions: North, East, South and West. With America as the center, each side of the canopy represents a variety of cultural patterns according to their location on the world map. The pop-up will be located in the Tenderloin. Therefore, we have decided to use the compass as the main subject for the design because the neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures and the library represents the knowledge from all over the world. The colors used in the design are correlated to the color spectrum. The library logo is shown on each corner.
